Tezos Art Ecosystem Strengthens Global Presence in 2025 with growing institutional adoption, expanding artist participation, and a strong global presence at major art events. In the year, the total volume of NFTs sold throughout the ecosystem was over half a million, indicating a long-term trend of blockchain-based digital art and creative exploration.

Museum Partnerships Drive Institutional Adoption on Tezos

A defining theme for the Tezos art ecosystem in 2025 was Institutional engagement. The Tezos Foundation further collaborated with the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI), converting the Herbert S. Schlosser Media Wall into a blockchain-native artistic experimentation platform.

Since the first partnership exhibition in June 2024, over 243,000 visitors have been introduced to digital art by MoMI. The program was expanded into an annual program in 2025, commissioning 12 artists to develop FA2 smart contract-based art as an inseparable component of their artistic activity. The project also launched the FA2 Fellowship, which trains artists and developers to work with Tezos FA2 smart contracts.

Tezos Art Ecosystem Expands Through Global Art Events

The presence of the Tezos art ecosystem was notably strong at major international art events throughout 2025. In February 2021, NFT Paris showcased a live demonstration by digital art pioneer Kiki Picasso on an original 1980s Quantel Paintbox. This was followed by the “Paintboxed -Tezos World Tour,” taking this historic digital art device to New York, Miami, Paris, and Basel during Art Basel.

Art on Tezos Berlin, the largest event of the year, was also a three-day festival and attended by over 700 international guests. The festival featured more than 500 artists, dozens of exhibitors, and top thinkers about art, technology, and AI.

Education and Artist Achievements Strengthen Tezos Art

Education was at the heart of the Tezos Art ecosystem development. In addition to the MoMI x Tezos FA2 Fellowship, a strategic partnership with the Processing Foundation was announced in August, further supporting software literacy in art and technology.

The most notable artistic events were the acquisition of works created by TeleNFT, first exhibited at Art on Tezos Berlin at the Francisco Carolinum. After its solo exhibition in Galerie Met, artist qubibi sold a live-coded generative artwork titled “hello world” for 62,000 tez. The early AI piece “Triggernometry” by Mario Klingemann also sold for 43,000 tez at the Digital Art Mile, curated by by Anika Meier for objkt one.

Final Thoughts: Tezos Art Ecosystem Poised for Continued Growth

As 2025 comes to a close, the Tezos art ecosystem is notable due to its institutional trust, growing community of artists, and its strong connection to the global art world. Long-term museum associations, high-profile international festivals, and large-scale sales of artists are indicators of a maturing ecosystem that is not connected to short-term trends. As the Museum of the Moving Image partnership is secured through January 2027, and more funding is invested into education, experimentation, and blockchain-native creation, the Tezos art ecosystem steps into the coming years with a strong base of continued innovation and cultural influence.
