Algorand Foundation Partners with Blockchain Association to Champion Pro-Innovation Crypto Policy in the US

The Algorand Foundation announced today its official membership with the Blockchain Association, a leading US industry group dedicated to fostering progressive policies for open blockchain networks.

Through this collaboration, the Algorand Foundation will collaborate with other Blockchain Association members to promote a regulatory framework that prioritizes innovation in the crypto space. This includes advocating for open access, permissionless systems, and digital public infrastructure within the United States.

“Our commitment is to an open, secure, and inclusive blockchain ecosystem, which necessitates clear, consistent policy,” stated Staci Warden, CEO of the Algorand Foundation. “As our industry matures, it’s increasingly vital to ensure policymakers grasp the tangible impact of blockchain technology, spanning from financial inclusion to decentralized identity. We eagerly anticipate working alongside the Blockchain Association and its members to advance this dialogue.”

The Algorand Foundation actively supports the development of Algorand, an energy-efficient, quantum-secure Layer 1 blockchain engineered for practical, real-world applications. Algorand offers high transaction throughput, instant finality, and minimal fees, making it an ideal platform for emerging uses in decentralized finance (DeFi), payments, identity management, supply chain traceability, asset tokenization, and more.

By joining the Blockchain Association, the Foundation brings a strong emphasis on the practical utility of blockchain, global financial accessibility, and public-good systems – all crucial elements for cultivating a responsible and impactful crypto ecosystem.

Last month, the Algorand Foundation welcomed Jennie Levin as its new Chief Legal and Operations Officer. Jennie will be a core team member working closely with the Blockchain Association on policy engagement and advocacy initiatives.

“The Blockchain Association plays a pivotal role in advancing crypto policy in Washington and beyond,” said Jennie Levin, Chief Legal and Operations Officer at the Algorand Foundation. “We are thrilled to be part of this coalition and look forward to contributing to essential discussions on innovation, access, and the future of open blockchain networks.”

The Foundation’s membership is effective immediately, with active participation in the Blockchain Association’s working groups and policy efforts already underway.
